BOOMASoft Unveils New and Innovative Web Form
Design Software, BOOMA WebForms, at Web '98
BOOMA WebForms dramatically reduces the cost and complexity of creating and
managing database-ready Web forms and auto responders
SAN FRANCISCO (June 22, 1998) - BOOMASoft today introduced BOOMA WebForms
at the Web '98 show in San Francisco. BOOMA WebForms is an easy-to-use and
cost-effective solution for Web site developers to create and manage forms
on their Web sites.
According to Craig Osterloh, president of BOOMASoft, BOOMA WebForms will
save Web developers time and money when creating forms for their sites.
"In the past, if Web developers wanted forms on their Web pages, they had
to either hire outside programmers or immerse themselves in the confusing
and time-intensive world of CGI scripting, Java coding and database
programming," Osterloh said. "This entire process took days, even weeks to
complete and could cost hundreds, even thousands of dollars. BOOMA WebForms
allows these professionals to create Web forms, with a database back-end,
in minutes and for less than $100."
The program creates Web forms through simple drag-and-drop technology and
requires no CGI scripting, programming or Java coding. As the form is
designed, a database is automatically and invisibly created to receive and
store the form's data.
BOOMA WebForms uses a Java applet to process its forms. Because of this
Java applet, BOOMA WebForms requires no server applications and works great
for virtually hosted Web sites, Osterloh said. Using an innovative
approach, BOOMA WebForms solves the applet-proxy server problem and
functions perfectly behind firewalls and proxy servers. The program uses
MS-Access data structures, enabling users to access their data with a
variety of tools.
BOOMA WebForms includes an auto responder application that allows users to
define automatic responses to submitted forms. The responses can be sent to
submitters either immediately or at pre-determined dates and time
intervals. Users can customize and personalize each response based on the
information submitted in the form.
BOOMA WebForms runs on desktop computers under Windows 95, Windows 98 or
Windows NT and will be available for the Macintosh soon. The program works
on many browsers including Internet Explorer 3.0 or higher, and Netscape
3.0 or higher.
"There are an endless number of applications that can be set up using BOOMA
WebForms," Osterloh said. "The potential for business and personal use is
limitless. All you need is an imagination."
BOOMA WebForms has a suggested retail price of $99 and will ship in August
1998. The program can be purchased prior to the August release date for $49
and comes with a 60-day money-back guarantee. A beta version will be
available to the general public July 1 via BOOMASoft's Web site at
http://www.boomasoft.com. A free 30-day trial version of the software will
also be available from BOOMASoft's Web site sometime in August.
